
Folks who have been looking forward to the OpenMoko FreeRunner open-source sequel will be disappointed to know that this handset has just been canceled, with the company slashing 50% of its workforce in an effort to remain in business. According to CEO Sean Moss-Pulz, despite the FreeRunner’s premature end, there will still be work done on a new non-smartphone aptly known as “Plan B” – this in addition to plans concerning newer handsets in the future.
