
It seems as though with each passing release of the PSP firmware, Sony’s handheld gaming console is creeping towards PS3 territory in terms of features. The firmware update 5.50 will see PSPs installed with this an “Information Board” to the XMB, enabling PSP owners to retrieve news bytes from Sony whenever there are new additions available on the PlayStation Store. Other features of the firmware update include creating and accessing sub-directories on the Memory Stick, a trial of Trend Micro’s “Kid’s Safety” service on the browser and Internet search games among others.
