Samsung has a brand new hard drive for those who are looking for a reliable and spacious portable hard drive to store all their data, and this time round it will be the Samsung Spinpoint M7 that will fulfil these criteria. Available in 250GB, 320GB, 400GB and 500GB capacities, these models will feature a brand new controller that is touted to save up to 25% power when in use compared to standard 2.5″ hard drives that are in the market today. In addition, the new controller also claims to improve performance by an impressive 18%, featuring a special rugged base and cover that shrugs off shocks of up to 400G/2ms during operation. Other features include a spindle speed of 5400 rpm, 8MB cache, NCQ and SATA connectivity for speedy data transfers through its 3Gbps interface.
