
The first Android phone from Samsung will launch in June of this year, and it won’t be launched in the U.S. However, Sprint and T-Mobile are likely to get Android phones later in the year as both are part of the Open Handset Alliance. Samsung says that both U.S phones will look “totally different” and Samsung also plans to deliver one to Europe.
Why so late? It turns out that Samsung wanted to take the time to make Android phones less “Google-centric” and add their own touch to the software. Hopefully, they won’t populate it with the same widgets found in the OMNIA. Samsung also worked hard on carriers customization so that they can happily bloat phones with their crapware. Oh joy.
