Second Skin Offers Fashionable Future

Fashion-forward designers just aren’t interested in cutting minimalist looks or throwing in more frills into a dress as they look forward to the future with a sense practicality by incorporating technology in an extremely unconventional manner. Take Stephanie Sandstrom for example, as she has come up with a special dress that is able to monitor and react to bad air quality, while Amanda Parkes decided her Piezing dress is able to generate electricity via kinetic energy harvested from our everyday movement – sounds good for folks who love sitting down idly while shaking their legs. Such wearable computing designs are on exhibition in San Francisco at an event known as Second Skin.
