Sharp has just launched in Japan its receiver tuner module for One-Seg digital terrestrial broadcasts, bringing together a couple of tuner ICs with an equal number of OFDM demodulation ICs which will work in tandem to enable two 1Seg broadcast programs to be received simultaneously. This in turn will allow the users to enjoy features such as dual-screen display as well as recording another program in the background while you’re busy entertaining yourself on a different channel. The Receiver Tuner Module from Sharp measures just 9mm x 9mm x 1.25mm, giving us the feeling that we’ll see this implemented in a fair share of devices in the near future.
