SMC 802.11n Cable Modem

SMC has unveiled their new combo cable modem and 802.11n Wi-Fi router which aims to offer the best of both worlds, featuring support of DOCSIS 2.0 for modern cable networks without compromising on a faster Wi-Fi standard so that one will be able to share connection while creating headroom for the local network. On the wireless front, you will find that this router is dual-band and supports both 5GHz and 2.4GHz spectrums for backwards compatibility. Other features include a stateful packet inspection (SPI) firewall, UPnP support for media sharing on the local link, a quartet of 100Mbps Ethernet jacks and the ability to be administrated via a Web browser for convenience of administrators. There is no word on pricing or availability as at press time.
