Many people have discussed about what the final outcome will be like when Symbian is combined with S60, and many of these fantasies are limited by business realities instead of technical glass ceilings. A bunch of highly talented dudes in the SOSCO (S60 on Symbian Customer Operations) team have Symbian compiling via GCC and managed to get it up and running on an Atom-based motherboard from Intel.
