More trouble for folks who have just installed Skype for iPhone in Germany, especially if you’re a subscriber of T-Mobile. Apparently, this new application could result in having the Internet service discontinued due to a violation in their contracts. According to Deutsche Telekom AG spokesman Alexander von Schmettow, “iPhone contracts from the company’s T-Mobile unit have blocked voice-over-Internet programs, or VoIP, since 2007″, and this would include the Skype for iPhone application. In addition, such programs could slow down T-Mobile’s network. What do you think – should the onus of reliable and consistent performance fall on the shoulders of the service provider?
