Apricorn is back with yet another storage device known as the Aegis Desktop. This device will come in various capacities of up to 1.5TB, featuring a 7,200RPM SATA drive within and an 8MB buffer to speed things up. The integrated eSATA interface will theoretically support data transfer speeds of up to 300 MB/s, while the slower USB 2.0 connection can handle 480Mbps in Utopia. The Aegis Desktop will safely house your hard drive in an aluminum enclosure with swivel feet that can be tucked away for horizontal orientation. The 500GB, 1TB and 1.5TB drives will retail for $120, $145 and $230, respectively. For those who want to pick up the Aegis Desktop enclosure alone, it is going for $50.
