EyeSeeCam Relies On Eyes As Controller

The EyeSeeCam is a new eye-to-robot control interface that relies on one’s eyes to control a bunch of mechanical devices – and we thought that ordinary folks who are able-bodied could not get any lazier. While this is a boon to those who are impaired in some way or another, we’re pretty sure “normal” folks will take advantage of such a system and devolve into fat, unhealthy bodies in due time. Developed by scientists at the University of Munich and demonstrated at the Hannover Messe 2009, the EyeSeeCam is presented as a head-mounted control interface that can track the viewpoint of the wearer’s pupils, transferring relevant data to servo actuators which in turn controls a wide range of mechanical devices including video cameras and a robot.
