The NYTimes believes that Palm will launch the Pre smartphone in the first week of June, just ahead of Apple’s WWDC. We’ve heard that one before, but we also heard that the Pre could be announced as early as tomorrow. Palm is already in full marketing swing, so the Pre could effectively come out at anytime now. What’s going to happen is anyone’s guess but we hope that it arrives sooner than later. In our opinion, launching too close to Apple’s event would be a mistake because they would end up stealing each other’s thunder.
*Hard launch means that you can actually buy the product (vs. soft launch or paper launch)
