GM has announced its OnStar Automatic Crash Response technology that is able to transmit “basic telemetry from a crash, including GPS location, the crash’s severity, and whether the car’s airbags deployed.” This new tool is known as Injury Severity Prediction which will analyze the collected data further, attempting to predict whether the crash would have caused severe injury to passengers. Sounds interesting, but this is one piece of technology that we hope we won’t be involved in when it gets to work.
