The RX-8 has certainly done its predecessor, the RX-7 proud, and Mazda now thinks it is time to include a fair number of upgrades to the platform. All standard equipment has been upgraded for the passengers’ comfort and convenience, including rain-sensing windshields (talk about making the driver lazier), an auto-light system that will turn the headlights on according to ambient light conditions (we wonder whether it works in the reverse, turning off when you’ve forgotten to do so after parking your vehicle), water repellent coating for clearer vision on front door windows and mirrors as well as Mazda’s advanced keyless entry and engine start system. Hopefully the base price will be retained.
