Folks who are about to pick up the Mercury On-The-Go Pro from OWC can choose from a variety of interfaces for them to hook up their hard drive to, including USB 2.0, FireWire 400 or FireWire 800. It ain’t too heavy to lug around the fanless external drive, but then again 2.5lbs of weight in your luggage could add up if you’re going to walk with it around the entire day. Each purchase will come with a backup and drive-cloning utility CD, and there is the option of making the On-The-Go Pro a boot drive to shorten start-up times. You can get the vanilla USB 2.0 version for $189.99, while the FireWire 400 counterpart is going for $219.99. Folks who love versatility and want both FireWire interfaces and USB 2.0 will have to fork out $239.99.
