Proxim Wireless has just released yet another USB adapter in the market – the ORiNOCO 802.11a/b/g/n USB adapter. Theoretically, it is able to support data transfer rates of up to 150Mbps when coupled with the AP-8000 and AP-800 access points from Proxim Wireless themselves. The inclusion of dual internal antennas enables users to switch between 5GHz and 2.4GHz networks without any hassle, while Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) support is available across the 5GHz bands. As for security, your data will be protected by 64- or 128-bit WEP, WPA and WPA2/802.11i security protocols. Those who are interested can pick up the ORiNOCO USB adapter for $75 a pop.
