Kudos to the government of Taiwan to come up with the World Games Stadium that was specially built to rely on solar-power completely for all of its energy needs and more. This is made possibly be an array of 8,844 solar panels that span an area of 14,155 square meters, generating up to 1.14 gigawatt hours of electricity every year – that is more than enough juice to power 80% of the stadium’s surrounding neighborhood when it is not in use. The World Games Stadium can seat 55,000 spectators, costing government coffers around $150 million.
