Asus Wireless Driver Improves Performance

It is interesting to note that selected enterprising owners of the Asus Eee PC 1000HE have installed the wireless driver for the Eee PC 1005HAB, citing an improvement in performance as well as the netbook’s wireless stability. Those who claim that they often had to reboot their Eee PC 1000HE netbooks prior to this wireless driver update due to lost wireless connections no longer need to do so, running for days on end without a reboot in sight. Apparently, this new driver targets the AW-NE785 wireless card, whereas the Eee PC 1000HE carries an AW-NE771 wireless module module instead. For those who aren’t sure what sort of wireless module their netbook is carrying, you’d best open up your computer and take a closer look before installation.
