Guess having a camera that tracks your movement in the living room is the wave of the future, as we’ve seen with Microsoft’s Project Natal, PS3′s camera/motion application and the Nintendo Wii Motion Plus feature. That has spurred Canesta to work with Hitachi and GestureTek by coming up with a new way to interact naturally with our TV sets using nothing but our hands. This gesture-controlled TV system allows a user to control key features of the set and navigate onscreen menus using nothing but hand gestures. Sounds fun, but what happens when there is just one TV in the home with two people fighting to watch the show of their choice? It would be madness as each person will be gesturing wildly to flip channels to the one they prefer. [Press Release]
