
Now here’s a device that helps us bridge the gap between the deaf and the blind, and them with us. The DeafBlind Communictor as it is known, will offer a trio of communication options to handicapped individuals in the following formats – face-to-face, TTY and SMS. The system itself comprises of two different components, the BrailleNote and DB-Phone, where the latter was specially designed to include a QWERTY keyboard and special software that will assist the deaf-blind community “talk” to bus drivers, waiters, friends, family, and basically any other human. Braille menus have been thrown in for one to make casual conversations in a snap.
