
LaCie is back not with external hard drives this time round but with two new wireless HD media players – the LaCinema Black PLAY and RECORD. Both devices will hook up to your home network through either Ethernet connectivity or Wi-Fi. Depending on your budget (prices start from $430 upwards), you can choose either 500GB or 1TB capacities. Features include the ability to decode 1080p HD movies and upscale standard definition content to 1080i resolution, while supported video codecs comprise of MPEG-1, MPEG-2/HD, MPEG-4, DivX, XVID, H.264 HD and WMV9 HD among others. Connectivity options include HDMI output, composite, component and USB ports, giving you to opportunity to hook up external drives as well.
