LG has plans to ship a 15″ OLED TV later this year, specifically between December and January 2010. The display won’t be manufactured by LG themselves though, as it will be manufactured by a third party instead – pretty strange move if you ask us. Its specifications have also been rather hush hush, but here’s hoping that the resolution it comes in will be higher than the 960 x 540 pixels that Sony’s XEL-1 currently offers, which coincidentally is also the only commercially available OLED display in the market today. What do you think about LG’s foray into the OLED TV market? We just hope more players enter the arena in order to drive down prices.
