LG OLED Panel Is Super Tough

It’s Hammer time! Or at least that’s what the folks at LG Display Co. Ltd. of Korea think, recently displaying their super tough 15″ OLED panel at SID Display Week 2009. Just to underline how tough their latest display is, a demonstration was needed where a mallet was sent flying to the panel at full strength, bouncing off it with nary a scratch. We suppose if Mjolnir was used, the final result would have been very different but people – this is a thin OLED panel we’re talking about here, where it is supposed to be fragile and all that! This amazing OLED display will feature a resolution of 1,366 x 768 an average luminance of 200cd/m2 and a contrast ratio is 100,000:1.
