LG is first off the blocks to release the first 4G/LTE USB modem in the world at CommunicAsia 2009, where it is touted to offer speeds of up to 100Mbps over a standard mobile network, which is by far and large superior over whatever 3G networks can throw at this point in time. There is no word on LG’s part as to when the modem will be released, but that clearly depends on when LTE networks will be launched around the world. Verizon is tipped to start offering LTE services in selected US markets from next year onwards.
