
ETRI of Korea has managed to come up with a spanking new OLED-based lamp that boasts an efficiency of 70 lumens per watt alongside a whopping lifetime rated at 10,000 hours.This new OLED lamp is also environmentally-friendly since it has an electricity consumption efficiency that is four times higher than that of typical incandescent electric lamps, while it doesn’t use a single drop of mercury during its manufacturing. Well, all we can say is, these kinds of lamps ought to hit the market sooner rather than later if the threat of global warming is going to be fought on all fronts.
