NEC has released a couple more LCD displays in the US after their Japanese counterparts were rolled out not too long back. The two models in question are the LCD2490WUXi2 and LCD2490W2, where they sport 24″ IPS panels which are able to produce superior images compared to PVA or TN screens. In addition, utilizing such panels will offer approximately 96.7% coverage of the sRGB color space, making them suitable for pro-level image editing. Other notable features include 12-bit color lookup tables, ambient light sensors to auto-adjust brightness and compensation for color and light variances across the LCD, a contrast ratio of 1,000:1 and a brightness level of 320cd/m2. They won’t come cheap though as the LCD2490WUXi2 and LCD2490W2 will retail for $1,099 and $1,299, respectively.
