With each new generation of processors, we end users generally benefit from improvements incorporated into such releases. Well, it seems that the new Pineview generation of Atom processors will be able to run much cooler thanks to better heat dissipation alongside support for 800MHz DDR2 RAM and a much speedier DirectX 9 graphics core. While LCD displays on such models will probably be limited to a maximum resolution of 1,366 x 768, one ought to be able to hook up a 2,048 x 1,536 monitor through a VGA port. Pineview processors will also be able to be bundled with 3rd party HD video decoders, helping netbooks handle 1080p video in the future.
