The OCam from European space scientists might not amount to much when it comes to resolution count at just 240 x 240 pixels, but it is able to shoot a whopping 1,500 images a second, enabling it to make out planets orbiting neighbouring stars. According to Norbert Hubin, head of the Adaptive Optics for ESO space agency, “This breakthrough camera is without an equivalent anywhere in the world. The camera will enable great leaps forward in many areas of the study of the universe.” Sure as heck won’t beat the beautiful images taken by the Hubble, but if it helps mankind discover other more secrets about our universe, why not?
