
OpenCL is a new open standard for graphics where all the major graphics cards manufacturers are involved, relying on the tried-and-tested C programming language to optimize your hardware configuration automatically for the best performance possible. OpenCL is, in essence, an API for developers to harness the power of GPUs for computing (non-graphics) purposes. Thanks to GPUs, tasks such as video-compression are possible in your OS, probably another reason why NVIDIA is Apple’s partner-in-crime. Related articles:
