PS3 Price Cut Rumor Surfaces Again

After the PS3-slim hoax (is it a hoax?), hopes for a quick PS3 price cut faded. We talked about how E3 was too early for a price reduction, but an analyst who claims to have information from “industry sources” (whatever that means) says that a $100 price cut is coming in mid-august, right on time for the Madden launch of August 18 and right before back-to-school shopping.

Wait?! PS3+Back to school shopping? This is a purely coincidental association we hope, because it doesn’t make a lot of sense. The good thing about predicting a console price cut is that it will eventually come.
