Firefighters are our modern day heroes as they enter blazing buildings to save lives, climb up trees to rescue trapped kittens and being an overall good guy in a civil society. Running headlong into a burning structure isn’t exactly meant for everybody, and it can get very easy to lose one’s bearings in all that heat and crumbling debris around. The Squad Firefighter Positioning System aims to make firefighting easier as it features a built-in sonar which will scan the building’s architecture to create a mini-map, displaying the location of individual team members as well as the overall environment. While this isn’t an actual device yet since it is still under the conceptual umbrella, it is something we would love to see materialize in the real world.
