TerreStar will launch the anticipated satellite-capable Windows Mobile handset come this July 1st (hey, that’s tomorrow!), where it will be available on AT&T. We don’t think people will make a beeline for it just like how most folks went nuts for the iPhone as well as its later iterations, but the TerreStar satellite phone ought to be in the region of $700 thereabours without any subsidies, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed that it won’t cost anything more than a dollar per minute – at least that’s what current satellite calls are being charged. Features include quad-band GSM and dual-band WCDMA if you don’t happen to be in space or somewhere remote.
