
Watch.impress.co.jp got this photo which shows some promotional material related to the new drive. Fortunately, it doesn’t take advanced Japanese reading skills to see that the hard disk will have a 64MB Cache (twice the amount on WD’s current offering). What’s not on the picture is that the drive runs at 7200 rpm – which is much faster than the current previous 5400rpm model.
Note that the current 2TB 5400rpm drive is part of the “green” family, which is great for storage. The Black Series is more suited for high-performance systems.
