Take this with a grain of salt: neowin has an interview with a “reliable inside source” that claims that the 16GB Zune will be priced at $250-$280. A 32GB might be in the works and storage capacity increase is one of the logical evolution of the Zune HD. Given how edgy this device is on the hardware side, we were actually worried that it would cost more…
The interviewee goes on saying that Zune HD will support 720p video decode, and we’re pretty sure that this is true, given that its graphics chip can definitely do it. The “news” however is that movies will finally arrive on the Zune Marketplace. The interview also mentions an improved battery life and mentions a September release. Finally, the Zune HD is said to be interacting with other Microsoft devices (360 anyone?).
Again, we press the fact that this is a rumor, from a source that neowin.net deems reliable, but for now, consider this as “entertainment” and not “information”. [via neowin]
