Looks like devices powered by the Android OS seems to be gaining more steam as time goes by, with word of China Mobile working on a new 7″ slate that will come with a full touchscreen display, bearing China Mobile’s G3 logo and equipped with China’s TD-SCDMA 3G connectivity at the same time. Apart from the Android OS, it will also boast voice and video call support, Web browsing, emails, text messaging and multimedia playback among others. Since it will run on TD-SCDMA, you can forget about seeing this make an appearance outside of China.

Android Android is mobile operating system from Google. The software was originally built by a company called Android Inc, that was purchased by Google in 2005. From its modest debuts, Android has become a powerhouse that powers not only smartphones and tablet, but a host of other less high-profile devices and gadgets. Although Android is not a community-driven project, Google does release the source code as open-source under the Apache license.
