A new breed of CinemaView displays will be equipped with Mini DisplayPort connectors alongside a TV add-on. This new line will be larger than its predecessors to begin with, where the 24″ model is rather similar to Apple’s LED Cinema Display albeit rolling out a 1080p resolution. The new display now holds a quartet of USB 2.0 ports, boasting a 2ms pixel response time and a 1,000:1 static contrast ratio. The price still remains at $499 – that’s what we call progress, although the release date has been held back by a couple of months till October. As for the new CinemaView 47, this is a hybrid TV/PC display that offers similar resolutions as that of a dedicated computer display, although it relies on Mini DisplayPort for input. There are also four USB 2.0 ports built-in, alongside a 4ms pixel response and a 4,000:1 contrast ratio, shipping next January for $1,499.
