If you happen to be in Colorado and need a new phone, make sure you qualify for their new bill where prepaid wireless carrier TracFone Wireless recently unveiled a plan which will make Colorado the 17th state in the US to roll out free handsets and cellular service to low income residents. Currently, the Public Utilities Commission is currently considering the plan that will offer up to 83 minutes of wireless minutes and a low-end Motorola handset to those in need. This “Safelink Wireless” subsidy plan, if approved, will be funded by the Universal Service Fund. You will need to draw aid from one of Colorado’s half dozen welfare funds in order to be eligible for the $50 Motorola handset.
