Creative Zii EGG and Plaszma platform unveiled

Creative has launched a hardware and software platform called Plaszma via ZiiLabs (a spin-off).The device called Zii EGG was developed to go up head-to-head against the iPod touch, where it is targeted to offer an energy efficient package that will not cost a bomb despite featuring the following :-

• 1080p output
• 3.5″ touchscreen display at 320 x 480 resolution
• 16 million colors LCD
• Capacitive 10-Point Multi-Gesture Touchscreen Display
• Text-to-Speech Engine
• SDHC memory card slot
• 32GB internal memory
• Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity
• GPS receiver
• Creative X-Fi audio processing

Word has it that Creative will ship the Zii Egg for approximately $199. Any takers? Note that Zii EGG can also run Android, and we wonder if it could be a dual-boot device as it seems hard to introduce yet another OS for developer to deal with [Press Release]
