Mitsubishi Electric is at the forefront of news yet again with a couple of new industrial use color TFT-LCD modules that boast protective glass which covers the entire display surface. These modules make outdoor visibility something normal, thanks to their high luminance alongside low reflectivity in bright environments, turning TFT-LCD devices into suitable outdoor-use products. This is made possible courtesy of bonding 3mm thick protective glass onto TFT-LCD module surfaces with resin, resulting in a reduction of 90% of outside light reflection compared to regular protective glass. Mitsubishi’s 12.1″ XGA model will be released later this August 1st, featuring a brightness of 900 cd/m2 while its 15″ XGA model will come with a brightness of 1,500 cd/m2.
