The DV-BD507 from Onkyo cements its reputation as being the first Profile 2.0 player from the stable, allowing it to play back BD-Live features available on selected discs. It must be noted, however, that an SD memory card needs to be inserted beforehand so that relevant content can be downloaded due to the lack of onboard memory. Other features include onboard decoding for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio Essential, leaving you with the option to use an HDMI-compatible receiver to take advantage of those formats. Too bad the features sound way too basic to justify a relatively high price tag of $450. Trust us, there are better bargains out there for you to check out.
