Vehicle theft can happen anytime, anywhere, and OnStar is here to help with a new trick up its sleeve – Remote Ignition Block. Whenever an OnStar subscriber reports a stolen vehicle and confirm that with local authorities, the Remote Ignition Block will automatically kick in with some help from its GPS system, where it will ping the car while preventing it from starting. This service will be made available across two million cars, and initial surveys done by OnStar showed that up to 97% of current subscribers would like to have the new function.
