Polymer Vision Shuts Down

See the Readius rollup e-reader on the right? Well, it might be extremely pleasing to the eye and holds a fair number of features within, but the current recession has hit its manufacturer, Polymer Vision, pretty hard, where the company has to close after cutting 50 jobs. First announced earlier this January, the Readius is prepped to come with a 5″ monochrome display alongside 16 grayscales, and whenever you want to bring it along, all you need to do is roll up the screen into a tiny 4.5″ x 2.5″ x 0.8″ package. Too bad this Windows CE-powered device won’t see the lght of day due to the lack of funding. Perhaps some other companies might want to play the role of a white knight and bail tihs project out?
