Psystar, a company that builds mac-clones has enlisted a new legal team to defend their case against Apple. The former legal firm was asking for $88,000 in due fees, amount that Psystar is unable to pay. The company has filed for bankruptcy to protect itself against creditors.
Psystar builds Mac OS compatible computers with off-the-shelf PC components. To make this work, the company has written Mac OS extensions to support non-Apple hardware. Apple claims that the license of OS X (osx manual, pdf) forbids users to run it on non-Apple hardware. Psystar disagrees.
