Samsung Hummingbird Could Prove To Be Serious Competitor

Samsung could very well up the ante when it comes to mobile device processors after releasing the fastest 45 nanometer (nm) core based on ARM Cortex-A8 mobile processor in the industry, also known as Hummingbird. This new Cortex-A8 implementation is able to churn out a spectacular performance of 2,000 DMIPS at a frequency of 1GHz without sipping any more juice than it should. In addition, it is equipped with a 32KB cache for data and instructions, while the L2 cache helps enhance its performance further. It would be interesting to see the Hummingbird processor see action in a variety of other devices in the near future.
