Samsung has just unveiled its Spinpoint F3 hard drive that targets high-end computing environments. The F3 is able to operate at 7200RPM, coming in various capacities of up to 1TB, where this is made possible by using a couple of 500GB per platter disks. Samsung’s latest F3 will also work silently thanks to its low noise operation technology SilentSeek and NoiseGuard, while being compliant with the (RoHS) restriction of hazardous substances directive. Other features include a 3.0Gbps SATA interface, Native Command Queuing features and a 16 MB/32MB buffer memory.
