
Sonic’s latest CineVision Adaptive HD is a codec that was specially developed codec that will target streaming HD video content to Internet-connected devices specifically. This technology will merge both the CineVision HD encoding process alongside Widevine’s adaptive streaming system, and is touted to be able to churn out Blu-ray discs at resolutions up to 1080p. Concurrently, scalable streaming for buffer-free broadband playback will happen. Apart from that, the system is able to take advantage of multi-CPU encoding platforms for content distribution.
