Christian Whitehead, a huge fan of Sega’s blue hedgehog, has used his technical know how to come up with a custom engine known as the “Retro Software Development Kit” that enabled a demo of Sonic CD to run on the iPhone. Well, it looks pretty close to the real thing which is already a huge compliment since the game was rebuilt from scratch instead of going through the usual porting route from the original source. The only drawback? The iPhone doesn’t have any notable buttons, so controlling the world’s fastest hedgehog might prove to be too much of a problem.
