As if the iPod nano doesn’t already have more than enough of its fair share of accessories, along comes the Sound Jacket – an inline peripheral for the fourth generation device that will perform hardware equalization of a nano’s output. Theoretically, this helps compensate distortion alongside lost quality during file compression, and Radiopaq – the brains behind the Sound Jacket, has tipped a quality improvement of up to 60% in some circumstances. In addition, the Sound Jacket comes with its own amplifier that will further boost the newly-adjusted output. Some frequencies will also be able to experience a doubling in volume over an unassisted iPod. Interested? Gotta be prepared to fork out £70 for this.
