Who would’ve thought that something like the Wiimote could actually be used to save lives? Well, that’s what CiiPR does – where it involves a dummy known as ResusciAnne alongside a PC application and a Wiimote. Whenever you push on ResusciAnne’s chest, the motion controlled joystick will interpret it as either a correct or incorrect chest compression, letting you get necessary practice in order to prepare for emergencies. This conceptual technology was developed by the University of Alabama at Birmingham since early this year, and it is tipped that the Wii CPR software could be available for download as early as this fall. Needless to say, it will be an open source code, giving the user additional freedom to program it according to their own specifications.
