3D holographic floating head

Who knows that the future can hold with the technology of today? Video conferencing down the road probably won’t involve webcams any more if ICT Graphics Lab has anything to say about it, demonstrating a disembodied 3D floating head that was rendered using special cameras which are able to capture the subject’s head and projecting it onto a spinning mirror. The projector will require a grid pattern to map out the subject’s face and throw a 3D version for viewers on the other end to see instead of relying on older methods that used slow scanning lasers. Pretty neat and creepy at the same time – you now get a real life representation of your boss’ face right in front of you even though he is halfway around the globe. At least it saves you the “hairdryer” treatment whenever he’s upset, where you no longer need to endure his bad breathe with each tirade.
